Jon P. Starling grew up in Henderson and graduated from Henderson ISD in 07′. He began his collegiate studies at Kilgore College, completing his Bachelor of Science in Music Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 12′. He began his teaching career at his alma mater Henderson High School as head choral director, and overseer of the Middle School choir program. As a member of Region 21 Choral Directors, he has been active in the continued excellence of the annual contests and concerts and has recorded contest rehearsal tracks for all region schools for High School Honor Choir Contest, as well as Middle School All-Region for a number of years. In addition to his teaching career, Jon has been active in not just his local church, but many churches in Texas. While fulfilling guest musician posts for different services and events across the state, Jon is director of musical activities at First Methodist Church of Henderson, Tx.
Starling is a member of Texas Music Educators Association and has been a member of Texas Choral Directors Association, and The American Choral Directors Association. In December 23′, Starling will Graduate with a Masters in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
